BS IEC 62003-2020 pdf free download – Nuclear power plants — Instrumention, control and electrical power systems — Requirements for electromagnetic compatibility testing.
This documentestablishes requirements for electromagnetic compatibility testing ofinstrumentation, control, and electrical equipment supplied for use in systems important tosafety at nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities. The document lists the applicableIEC standards (principally the IEC 61000 series) which define the general test methods, andprovides the necessary application-specific parameters and criteria to ensure that nuclearsafety requirements are met.
The normative part of this document is limited to the testing of equipment prior to installationin a nuclear power plant to demonstrate immunity to electromagnetic disturbances and todemonstrate that the equipment does not generate excessive emissions. Testing for thegeneration of excessive emissions is also applicable to non-safety equipment. This documentincludes informative annexes which provide additional guidance and describes approaches tomaintaining electromagnetic compatibility for installed equipment. The intent of this documentis to provide guidance for conducting the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) qualificationtesting of the equipment and does not provide guidance for the installation of the equipmentto prevent electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI). However, theconfiguration of the equipment under test during EMC qualification testing is representative ofthe intended installation in a nuclear facility.
Protection against a high altitudeelectromagnetic pulse (HEMP) and intentionalelectromagnetic interference (IEMI) are outside of the scope of this document, but informationcan be found in IEC 61000-4-23,IEC 61000-4-24, and IEC 61000-4-25 (HEMP) andlEC 61000-4-36(IEMl) to address these phenomena.
